Working across Oracle, customer, partner, and systems-integrator teams, the Senior Project Manager establishes the delivery framework, drives accountability, manages project and commercial risk, and ensures engagements are delivered in accordance with contractual commitments and Oracle delivery standards.
The role requires strong business judgment, executive communication skills, and the ability to lead multiple workstreams and stakeholders in a highly matrixed environment. The Senior Project Manager also contributes to business growth, team development, delivery standards, and continuous improvement across the consulting organization.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Governance
- Lead complex enterprise implementation and consulting engagements through the full project lifecycle, from initiation and planning through deployment, stabilization, and closeout.
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, resource plans, communication plans, and governance structures.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, dependencies, assumptions, risks, issues, and change control.
- Establish effective project governance, including status reviews, steering committee meetings, executive reporting, RAID management, decision tracking, and escalation processes.
- Monitor project performance against contractual commitments and agreed delivery objectives and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure project deliverables meet Oracle quality standards and customer acceptance criteria.
- Identify project risks and issues early, evaluate alternatives, and drive timely resolution and escalation.
Financial & Commercial Management
- Own project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue, margin, utilization, invoicing, expenses, and financial reporting.
- Monitor project profitability and proactively address forecast variances, resource constraints, scope changes, and margin risks.
- Ensure project activities remain aligned with contractual scope and commercial terms.
- Lead or support change requests, scope adjustments, and associated commercial discussions.
- Partner with Consulting leadership, Finance, Operations, and Sales to maintain accurate forecasts and project financial data.
- Balance customer satisfaction, successful delivery, and financial performance throughout the engagement.
Customer & Stakeholder Leadership
- Serve as the primary delivery point of contact for customer project leadership and key stakeholders.
- Build trusted relationships with customer executives, project managers, business leaders, partners, and systems integrators.
- Manage customer expectations through proactive communication, transparent reporting, and disciplined issue and risk management.
- Facilitate project reviews, steering committees, executive discussions, and critical decision‑making forums.
- Communicate complex delivery, business, and technical topics clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Maintain customer confidence throughout the engagement and support strong customer satisfaction and referenceability.
Resource & Team Leadership
- Lead cross‑functional and geographically distributed project teams, including consultants, solution architects, technical resources, partners, and customer resources.
- Define roles, responsibilities, priorities, deliverables, and accountability across the project team.
- Identify project staffing requirements and coordinate resources to support delivery objectives.
- Monitor resource utilization and capacity and proactively address staffing or scheduling constraints.
- Provide direction, coaching, and mentoring to project team members.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high‑performing project environment.
Business Development & Consulting Practice
- Partner with Consulting Sales and practice leadership during opportunity development, proposals, estimates, bid reviews, and implementation planning.
- Assess delivery assumptions, risks, timelines, resource requirements, and commercial considerations for proposed engagements.
- Identify project extensions, change opportunities, and additional customer needs and engage the appropriate sales and consulting stakeholders.
- Contribute lessons learned, reusable assets, templates, delivery standards, and leading practices to the broader consulting organization.
- Promote consistent use of Oracle methodologies, tools, governance standards, and project management practices.
- Support continuous improvement and standardization of project delivery processes to improve quality, efficiency, predictability, and scalability.
