Job summary

FM Cleveland Operations seeks a Consultant Engineer to learn and apply risk mitigation for client properties, focusing on loss prevention and site assessments. You will work under experienced mentors, progressing to larger-scale evaluations while developing client relationships.

The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering, 0–3 years of experience, strong communication, and the ability to work effectively from a home office. Travel and a company car are part of the package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• 0–3 years of industry experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Analytical, organizational, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
• Efficient time management with minimal supervision
• Ability to work from a home office environment
• Proficiency in MS Office
• A valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on site risk assessments of the client’s physical property, including roofs
• Conduct engineering evaluations covering fire protection, water supplies, sprinklers, combustible dust hazards, chemical storage, and equipment breakdown potential
• Ensure FM Engineering Standards are followed and communicate recommendations to clients
• Deliver written reports following each client site visit with accuracy and timeliness
• Work from a home office while coordinating with others remotely
• Travel to client facilities within driving distance; company car provided; additional travel for training and events
• Overnight travel expected ~30% of the time
