Job summary

Jensenhughes is seeking a Consulting Engineer to support clients in the greater Philadelphia area. This role involves significant onsite client interaction and working with professionals on risk-informed services and nuclear safety consulting.

Qualifications

  • At least 2+ years of experience in Navy nuclear or commercial nuclear power plants.

Responsibilities

  • Support Maintenance Rule implementation.
  • Advise work planners on scheduling of maintenance activities to minimize risk.
  • Maintain and update configuration risk management (CRM) software models.
  • Respond to emergent plant risk management activities and risk‑related issues.
  • Interface with plant operations on risk‑related items.
  • Develop and maintain risk‑related documentation and training material.

Job Overview

Jensen Hughes is seeking a Consulting Engineer located in the greater Philadelphia, PA area to support local clients. Local travel to client site 25%‑40% depending on level of relevant experience and client commitments. The position joins the Risk Informed Services division of Jensen Hughes and will work with experienced professionals including probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) engineers on the Energy & Utilities team which provides premium nuclear safety and reliability consulting services. This is a dynamic, technically rewarding position that offers both a team and an independent work environment, including substantial onsite client interface.

Responsibilities

The consulting engineer functions as part of a corporate risk management team that interfaces with multiple nuclear plant departments to implement the risk management (PRA) program. This includes providing technical consulting on a wide range of engineering and regulatory projects in addition to supporting day‑to‑day nuclear power plant operations. Specific work tasks include:

  • Supporting Maintenance Rule implementation
  • Advising work planners on scheduling of maintenance activities to minimize risk
  • Maintaining and updating configuration risk management (CRM) software models
  • Responding to emergent plant risk management activities and risk‑related issues
  • Interfacing with plant operations and other engineering departments on risk‑related items
  • Developing and maintaining risk‑related documentation and training material
Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical engineering and at least 2+ years of experience in Navy nuclear or commercial nuclear power plants. Minimum requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Financial incentives may be considered for someone relocating for the position.

National Pay Range: $85,000 – $105,000 USD
