Summary

Join the Ansys Customer Excellence team to partner with our customers to engineer what's ahead, solve real-world engineering problems, deploy Ansys software in their design workflows, and grow Ansys’ business. As a hands-on, embedded expert in Ansys products, you will use advanced-level engineering knowledge to provide technical professional services and help translate customer requirements into exciting new product features. You will work within multi-disciplinary teams to advance your knowledge, experience, and business impact.

This is a hybrid role that will require the candidate to work on-site with a customer in the San Francisco Bay Area every other week.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Lead/Assist in the delivery of specific customer-facing, technical consulting project activities
2. Credibly and professionally execute consulting projects that are sold, as defined in the Statement of Work, resulting in high customer satisfaction and delivering value to our customers
3. Actively engage with the sales teams and customers to identify opportunities to provide consulting services to enhance the utilization of simulation in product development
4. Work as an integral member of the Sales and ACE teams to progress and secure the consulting business. This will involve working with Sales to develop sales strategies, engaging with customers to understand their existing product development process, developing a vision for enhancing their existing process with Ansys products and services, articulating that vision to the customer, and working with the ACE team to develop a plan for execution of that vision
5. Work closely with the ACE team to ensure timely development of effective Statements of Work and Services Proposals. Monitor the execution and delivery of consulting projects to ensure customer satisfaction and develop opportunities for follow-up projects that advance the vision for improving the customer product development process
6. Look for opportunities to generate marketing collateral from projects such as success stories, testimonials and presentation material
7. Collaborate with Product Development to improve Ansys software products and the customers’ experience using these products

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

Required Education and degree type: MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Required minimum years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: MS+0

Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages focused on structural mechanics

Subject matter expert in one or more relevant disciplines within Ansys’ business and is/will be sought out for advice by other Ansys engineers

Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking English

Strong organizational and time management skills, possesses a sense of urgency

Projects a professional image and demonstrates business acumen, driven to succeed

Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of time

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Preferred education and years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: MS+3, or PhD+0

2 years of experience in application engineering, customer support, or consulting services type customer facing roles using engineering software

Demonstrated knowledge of Ansys Structural simulation software like Ansys Mechanical and Ansys LS-Dyna

Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers and customer project sponsors

Ability to travel domestically up to 50% of time
