Description

The Leidos National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) Program is looking for a Training Instructor to support the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Office of International Affairs (API) and FAA Academy.

API plays an integral role in advancing the FAA's international mission to promote a safe, secure, seamless and sustainable global aerospace system. API is responsible for providing international coordination, and outreach to support the harmonization of global aviation systems' modernization efforts. The Contractor will assist API with the development and delivery of various training courses as needed to meet agency requirements.

The Training Instructor will develop, maintain, and update course materials and training plans. The incumbent will administer the FAA's English for Air Traffic Controllers and others as required. This work directly supports the FAA's safety mission and statutory requirements across multiple functional areas including safety oversight, security, and FAA Reauthorization implementation activities. The Training Instructor plays a vital role in accomplishing the mission critical initiatives and addressing administration priorities.

This is a part-time position.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide support to respond to customer requirements; strategic planning for schedules and human resource management; and coordination with other task resources with an integrated approach to accomplishing the task order's purpose.
  • Configure and manage virtual training technology on an FAA-approved platform to support remote course delivery in a functional learning environment for international participants.
  • The candidate communicates with internal and client project team members regarding solution design, process and/or approaches. The desired incumbent will develop solutions to problems that are unclear and require thorough analyses and understanding of domain knowledge.
  • Produce post-course delivery notes and observations submitted to the FAA Course Manager no later than five (5) business days after each course completion. Reports will include time tracking of lesson blocks, observations on delivery flow, lesson order, part-task activities, simulations, and laboratory exercises, and identification of areas for improvement.
  • Provide support in developing, updating, and analyzing project tracking programs.
  • Provide technical support and subject matter expertise additional for courses and/or projects for the FAA as requested by APL.
Basic Qualifications
  • Typically requires BS degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain.
  • Recent experience conducting technical training or teaching certification.
  • Technical expertise utilizing Microsoft Office applications to include: Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail to support business and strategic planning.
  • Experience with training development and delivery.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working in Federal Government contracting, FAA is a plus.
  • Have a certificate and professional experience teaching English as a second language.
  • Pilot and/or Air Traffic Control experience.
Target Salary

$50 - $55 per hour.
