Job summary

Vizient seeks an experienced healthcare strategy consultant to lead complex projects aimed at reducing clinical variation and boosting cost efficiency in hospitals and systems.

You will partner with cross-functional teams and senior leaders, develop plans, manage delivery, and help grow the business through new opportunities. Travel will be regular; MST/PST time zones preferred.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant healthcare consulting or provider experience.
  • Background in clinical and cost improvement initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of Physician/Clinical Preference Items.
  • Proven experience leading large, cross-functional projects.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with executives.
  • Willingness to travel regularly; MST/PST time zone preferred.

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior healthcare leaders and C‑suite executives to drive strategic alignment.
  • Support business development by identifying opportunities, generating leads, and contributing to sales closures.
  • Contribute to thought leadership through industry presentations, publications, and the creation of new service offerings.
  • Collaborate with Spend Management and other teams to ensure strategic alignment and seamless engagement execution.

Qualifications
  • Relevant degree preferred.
  • 7 or more years of relevant experience required; prefer background in clinical and cost improvement initiatives within a healthcare provider organization and/or consulting firm.
  • Deep understanding of Physician/Clinical Preference Items strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience leading large, complex projects with cross‑functional teams.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse professional audiences, including clinical leaders.
  • Ability to lead change initiatives and navigate ambiguity in dynamic healthcare environments.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational capabilities in fast‑paced settings.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with executives, physicians, and frontline healthcare staff.
  • Ability to travel regularly and expeditiously throughout the year to meet clients’ needs and timetables.
  • Prefer candidates in the MST/PST time zone.
Estimated Hiring Range

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $117,600.00 to $206,000.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
