ERM is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Consulting Associate, Civil Engineering, Remediation to join our team in Malvern (Philadelphia), PA. Working under the guidance of professional engineers, project managers, and partners, you will contribute to challenging remediation projects across the Mid-Atlantic, US, and global locations. Your responsibilities will include preparing remedial designs and managing remedial construction for media such as groundwater, sediment, soil, and vapor. Technologies for in-situ and ex-situ remediation will be designed and applied at active and inactive sites.

This is a great opportunity to collaborate with ERM's technical experts on environmental remediation projects for large industrial and global clients.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in engineering design for process and civil remediation projects targeting contaminated soil and groundwater, utilizing innovative and traditional treatment technologies.
  • Evaluate remedial technologies for site-specific applicability.
  • Assist in designing remediation construction projects, including calculations, drawings, bid packages, cost estimates, specifications, and support plans.
  • Provide field support during construction oversight and ensure quality assurance.
  • Conduct monitoring, operation, and maintenance of remediation systems such as groundwater treatment and vapor extraction.
  • Perform fieldwork including pilot tests, QA activities, and oversight.
  • Manage contractors and site personnel, ensuring project progress within scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, regulators, and team members.
  • Coordinate with ERM offices worldwide for proposals and project management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Geotechnical Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0; Master’s preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Recent graduate to 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Engineer-in-Training certification preferred.
  • Environmental field experience and OSHA HAZWOPER certification are a plus.
  • Knowledge of civil/geotechnical design, geosynthetics, stormwater management, erosion control, and landfill closure.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and earthworks computations is advantageous.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel; valid driver’s license required.
  • Local candidates preferred.
