Job summary

Appian is seeking a Consultant to design and deliver modern business transformations using its AI-powered Process Automation platform. You will own end-to-end delivery of custom software solutions and partner with client executives to solve complex workflow problems and build robust integrations.

You will work with cross-functional teams, travel up to 20%, and support enterprise customers in achieving rapid, tangible outcomes. A TS/SCI clearance is required for this opening.

What You’ll Do

• Architect & Implement: Design, develop, and deploy robust, custom automation solutions throughout the entire project lifecycle utilizing Appian’s AI-Powered Process Automation platform.
• Integrate Ecosystems: Build seamless data connections and scalable APIs to integrate multiple external enterprise systems using REST, SOAP, and JDBC connections.
• Engineer Data Models: Launch new relational data models in production environments and optimize database design through sophisticated SQL development.
• Agile Delivery: Partner within cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies (sprints, stand-ups, pair programming) to rapidly deliver high-value features.
• Empower Clients: Collaborate closely with client technical teams and business stakeholders, driving platform adoption and training users to become self-sufficient.

Required Qualifications

• Degree: Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a closely related technical field.
• Experience: 1+ years of hands-on experience in software development or technical implementation consulting.
• Core Engineering: Proven track record with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), database design, and SQL (writing complex queries, joins, and views).
• Requirements Gathering: Demonstrated ability to analyze client business processes and translate them into functional and technical system requirements.
• Mobility: Willingness to travel up to 20% to support customer engagements and on-site collaboration.
• An Active Government Clearance (Top Secret or higher, without any limitations) is required for this opening, with the ability and willingness to perform work within cleared facilities (SCIF work is required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with modern cloud architecture and environments, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, or Elastic Containers.
• Exposure to Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Analytics, and automated test suites within a continuous integration framework.
• S ecurity Clearance: Active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

The base salary range provided represents a good faith and reasonable estimate of the range at the time of posting. In addition to the base salary, this position is eligible for a government clearance differential. Actual compensation will be dependent on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant work experience, qualifications, internal peer equity, and market and business conditions that exist when extending an offer. A discretionary bonus may be awarded in recognition of individual and company performance. Base Salary Range: $75,000 USD - $175,000 USD
