Join Our Team as an Oracle Database Administrator!

Are you passionate about database management and eager to work with cutting-edge technology? We are looking for a skilled Oracle Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will:

  1. Manage and maintain Oracle databases to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

  2. Implement and oversee database security measures to protect sensitive information.

  3. Collaborate with developers and other IT professionals to design and optimize database solutions.

  4. Troubleshoot and resolve database issues to minimize downtime and ensure seamless operations.

Database Experience:

  • Oracle Database on Linux (19c and above)
  • Oracle Multitenant (CDB, PDB Architecture)
  • Oracle Grid Infrastructure
  • Oracle Data Guard
  • Oracle GoldenGate
  • Oracle ASM
  • Oracle Enterprise Manager (Basic)
  • General knowledge of Oracle Data dictionary, Oracle Registry components
  • Work with Oracle Support – Database related issues
  • Oracle Exadata Engineered System (Basic knowledge and architecture)
  • Amazon Web Services

Scripting:

  • Bash
  • PL/SQL
  • Python (beneficial but not required)

On-call is required as part of this position. We staff a 2nd shift M-F to assist and minimize this impact.

As a Consultant, Technology Engineer, you deliver standard and custom supportable technology products. The solutions you build are based on Nationwide’s architectural standards, technology roadmaps, industry trends, and business requirements. You’ll focus on collaboration, data, systems, storage, middleware, network, security, and contact center technology products. You’ll also be accountable for the operational aspects and management for the above products according to the business requirements and defined SLAs.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with Technology Architecture professionals to develop technology product roadmaps.
  • Apply secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure data and technology solutions are protected.
  • Design and implement standard builds/templates for all technology platforms.
  • Drive product improvements through optimization, enhancements, and new features.
  • Work with other Technology Engineering teams and Architecture to ensure product success.
  • Conduct proof-of-concept labs for enhancements and new solutions.
  • Design standard and custom technology solutions for business projects, including testing, tuning, and handoffs.
  • Monitor proactively and reactively to detect, predict, and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with vendors to drive innovation.
  • Execute production engineering processes including incident, root cause, problem, change, release, and knowledge management.
  • Provide complex production support and oversee labs and development environments.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to AVP, Director, or Manager of Technology Engineering/Products.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, MIS, or related field preferred.
  • Certifications in AWS, Azure, scripting, security, etc., encouraged.
  • Six+ years experience with complex integrated solutions across multiple technologies and domains.
  • Experience with automation, training, and solutions such as IaaS, PaaS, SaaS.

Additional Skills: Strong communication, planning, security knowledge, influencing, negotiating, and industry knowledge are valued.
