Description/Notes:

Primary Purpose:
● Responsible for implementing the SEIC project and providing activities based on analysis of data
● Support the activities and purposes of the SEIC
● Support the activities and purpose of IDEA Part B and IDEA Part C

Specific Responsibilities and Duties for the SEIC Consultant:

  1. Provide accurate and timely information to questions about special education (email, phone, chat)
  2. Accurately enter data into Jira system
  3. Present and represent SPEDTex at conferences and parent events
  4. Maintain social media platforms
  5. Participate in team project long-term planning and project development/implementation
  6. Provide input to budget planning
  7. Participate in collaborative meetings (TEA, ESCs, advisory council)
  8. Exhibit excellent communication skills
  9. Exhibit initiative in meeting needs and developing new ideas
  10. Identify problems and suggest solutions in a positive manner
  11. Exhibit good judgement in interactions with all stakeholders
  12. Accurately maintain JIRA data system
  13. Accurately and timely respond to stakeholder requests for information and resources
  14. Assist with implementation of statewide initiatives and/or directives
  15. Maintain a strong knowledge of special education regulations and evidence-based practices

Qualifications:

Education/Certifications:
● Texas Teaching Certification, including special education
● Master's Degree in Special Education or a related field

Experience:
● Special Education Director, coordinator/supervisor or other equivalent supervisory role
● Central office experience (preferred)

Salary Range: $68,000-$92,000 (Salary estimate based on experience and skill set.)

Benefits: We have 10 earned personal leave days, 10 vacation days (prorated), and pay
$500.00/month as an employer contribution to assist with health insurance. We
have a Retirement Savings and Matching Plan to assist with employee retirement.
