Qualifications

• Experience with insurance/financial services domain is a plus.

We are seeking a Technology Lead to support the Integration Governance Team within the Technology Integration Platforms organization. The team owns the tools, standards, and accelerators that ensure integration solutions across Nationwide are secure, resilient, and consistently delivered.

In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the security and integrity of our AI, APIs, and Event Streams, playing a crucial part in safeguarding our organization’s digital infrastructure. APIs are the number one threat vector for malicious actors to Nationwide Technology and the Financial Services industry at large, therefore ensuring that Nationwide’s integrations are secure, resilient, and operational is paramount.

The ideal candidate will have the following characteristics:

• Ability to work in a fast paced team environment

• Thought leadership with strong ability to influence and lead continuous improvement
• Experience developing software via Agile software development methodologies

• Analyze solutions, develop, test, debug, document, and deploy moderately complex software according to standards and best practices.
• Champion the adoption and effective use of DevSecOps practices, tooling, and techniques to improve software quality, security, automation, and delivery efficiency across teams.
• Manages multiple medium to large project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables proactively.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to a Technology Manager/Director.

Typical Skills and Experiences

Education : Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, mathematics, or related field are strongly preferred.

Experience : Six or more years of programming, software engineering or systems analysis experience. Three years of experience in project management is preferred.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Hands-on technical leadership experience leading project teams and setting technical direction. Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, and JavaScript. Knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle sophisticated business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resources Business Partner.
