Software Engineer needed to analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, and Groovy/Grails frameworks. Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices architectures, ensuring high performance and maintainability. Create detailed system architecture and workflow diagrams using Microsoft Visio and manage requirements through Jira and ServiceNow. Utilize Apache Tomcat and Oracle WebLogic for application deployment and ensure seamless integration with Microsoft SQL Server and IBM DB2 databases. Perform cloud migration initiatives, re-architecting applications to leverage AWS services such as S3, Lambda, SNS and SQS for improved scalability and reliability. Drive end-to-end delivery of project milestones, coordinating cross-functional deliverables using Jira and version control via GitHub. Master’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology and 3 years of experience performing the duties listed above. #LI-DNI

Reporting Relationships: Reports to a Technology Manager/Director.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

• Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, mathematics, or related field are strongly preferred.
• Experience: Six or more years of programming, software engineering or systems analysis experience. Three years of experience in project management is preferred.
• Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Hands-on technical leadership experience leading project teams and setting technical direction. Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, and JavaScript. Knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle sophisticated business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus. Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
