Applications are being sought to join the Ophthalmology Consultant body at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.The post is for a Consultant Ophthalmologist with a special interest in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Ocular Motility.The department of Ophthalmology is based on 4 sites aroundWorcestershire; Worcestershire Royal Hospital (WRH), Alexandra HospitalRedditch (Alex), Kidderminster Treatment Centre (KTC) and the Princess of WalesCommunity Hospital (POWCH) in Bromsgrove. The Ophthalmology department provides a full range of services to the600 000 population of Worcestershire along with patients from surroundingcounties.
The Ophthalmology Department benefits from 3 dedicated theatres and out-patientdepartments and a full complement of modern equipment, including TOPCON fundusfluorescein imaging system, Spectral Domain OCT technology, Optos camera andlaser facilities (SLT, Pascal and YAG). All imaging facilities are networked.We use the OpenEyes electronic patient record.

Candidates will be expected to present a 5 minute presentation using slides on the following topic: "How do you see the paediatric ophthalmology service in Worcestershire developing over the next 5 years?"
The successful candidate is expected toprovide Consultant level care & supervision in the Paediatric and OcularMotility service. They will also participate in the Acute Eye Service and bepart of the local out of hours on call rota.
Posts advertised as full-time will be contracted at 10 programmed activities.On-call frequency 1:15, Category B, 3.0% availability supplement.
