Job summary

Northern Trust Corp. in Chicago seeks a detail-oriented finance professional to review monthly fund and business entity closing summaries, report financial data to clients, and prepare fund financial statements.

You will interact with clients and Hedge Fund Services teams, work with external auditors, and serve as a subject matter expert to mentor junior staff, contributing to accurate and timely reporting.

Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • In-depth functional/industry knowledge is required.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Technical skills / systems knowledge are required.
  • A college or university degree and/or relevant proven work experience is preferred.
  • Related industry qualification (e.g. CPA) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review of monthly fund and business entity closing summaries.
  • Report and analyze financial data to be disseminated to clients and their investors.
  • Close monthly books and records of the funds to general final performance figures.
  • Interact with clients and Hedge Fund Services teams to obtain understanding of funds' activities.
  • Prepare financial statements for funds.
  • Work directly with external auditors to ensure accuracy of each fund's annual financial statements.
  • Carry out complex activities with significant financial, client, and internal business impact.
  • May interact with committees and/or Senior Management.
  • Serve as a key subject matter expert and mentor to junior staff.
  • Deliver a work product that requires less revision.
