Join to apply for the Consultant, Environmental Permitting Specialist, FERC Generalist (Mid-Level) role at ERM.

ERM is seeking a self-starting Consultant, Environmental Permitting Specialist, FERC Generalist to join our consulting firm. This role can be based anywhere in the United States. You will provide high-quality analytical support to ERM clients, working closely with team members. Assignments will include impact assessment and permitting for energy projects such as natural gas pipelines, LNG terminals, renewables, and transmission lines. Responsibilities
  • Prepare permit applications for federal, state, or local environmental authorities related to energy/industrial facilities.
  • Evaluate regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain records and survey reports.
  • Assist in preparing technical project documents, including writing, data tabulation, and engineering calculations.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and management reports.
  • Communicate with clients, including requesting information, answering questions, and providing recommendations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a natural science or engineering field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work or internship experience.
  • Experience with FERC is a plus.
  • Up to 40% travel.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Experience with desktop research, GIS, map interpretation, and natural resource studies.
  • Ability to work in the field in various weather conditions and navigate using GPS and maps.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle.
  • Attributes of a strong consultant: team player, eager to learn, self-starter, versatile, service-oriented.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with natural resource agencies and regulatory bodies.
  • Field or consulting experience, familiarity with construction sites, and survey techniques.
  • Knowledge of ArcGIS software.
