Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a Consultant Ecologist to join a growing environmental consultancy in Oxford. The role involves carrying out Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs) and Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), protected species surveys, and Biodiversity Net Gain work.

Salary ranges from £30,000 to £37,000, with hybrid and flexible working options. This permanent, full-time position offers training and development, a supportive team, and opportunities to work on diverse projects for

Qualifications

• Experience in ecological consultancy.
• Understanding of UK wildlife legislation and survey methods.
• Experience with ecological assessments, protected species surveys or BNG.
• Good technical writing and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Based in or within commuting distance of Oxford.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEAs) and EcIA.
• Undertake protected species surveys and habitat assessments.
• Support Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) assessments and reporting.
• Produce technical reports and ecological documentation.
• Work with clients, developers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide practical ecological advice to support project delivery.
