A leading company in the insurance sector is seeking a Consultant in Business Insights to drive data-driven decision-making. This role involves extracting and analyzing data, providing insights, and collaborating with key stakeholders to ensure data-driven strategies. Candidates should have significant experience in data analytics and familiarity with business intelligence tools.

This opening can be filled in a remote/work-from-home (WFH) capacity or in one of our offices.
This role will primarily support Auto Insurance data, reporting, and analytical needs for the P&C Personal Lines organization.
Candidates must possess the following skills/experience:
Proficiency with Python, R, Java, or other similar programming languages is especially ideal but not required.
This role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the Stem OPT Extension program.

Job Description Summary

As a Consultant, Business Insights, you’ll extract data to obtain knowledge and insights, manipulate internal and external data through R/SAS/SQL/Python, perform diagnostic and inferential analysis, investigate complex business concerns using data and statistical techniques, apply analysis or visualization techniques, build forecasts and/or projections of possible business futures and benefits, and communicate key findings to business partners. Your focus will be to maximize insight gained from internal and external data to ensure that business partners are making decisions in an optimally informed way.
Key Responsibilities:
Additional responsibilities include collaborating with leaders to develop strategies, determining appropriate information sharing, managing special projects, serving as a subject matter expert, contributing to process improvements, and supporting report preparation and training.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Director/Associate Vice President. No direct reports.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies in data or business analytics, computer science, management information, business, mathematics or related field; post-graduate studies preferred.
Experience: Eight or more years in data extraction, manipulation, analysis, and visualization. Experience with statistical techniques and working with large data sets. Industry experience in insurance, financial services, or related fields preferred.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Strong understanding of business policies, customer service, data visualization, predictive modeling, and BI tools. Excellent communication skills and ability to translate business problems into solutions. Ability to work under tight deadlines and develop clear data visualizations.

Job Conditions: Exempt, normal office environment, occasional travel, nonstandard or extended hours based on project needs.
