Qualifications

  • Professional consulting or functional support experience with enterprise software applications
  • Experience with business process analysis and translating requirements into functional solutions
  • Experience supporting software implementations or operations and maintenance environments
  • Experience working directly with government stakeholders in a client-facing role
  • Hands-on experience with federal acquisition platforms or similar systems is strongly preferred

Position Summary

Unison Software is seeking a Consultant to provide functional consulting, operational support, and advisory services to federal acquisition organizations using Unison's acquisition, grants management, and contract lifecycle solutions.

Consultants at Unison are the functional experts on their programs. They work directly with government stakeholders to accelerate user adoption, optimize business processes, configure system capabilities, deploy new functionality, and improve day‑to‑day acquisition operations across both implementation and operations and maintenance (O&M) engagements. The role combines functional consulting, business process improvement, operational support, user engagement, and solution optimization.

Program assignment, solution complexity, and depth of independent ownership scale with experience level and are defined in the specific job posting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a primary functional point of contact supporting day‑to‑day operations of the client acquisition and grants management environment
  • Provide functional support, issue triage, and problem resolution for government users
  • Analyze business requirements and recommend system configuration and workflow improvements aligned to federal acquisition best practices
  • Configure and maintain application settings to support evolving business needs, and support the deployment and adoption of new capabilities and enhancements
  • Facilitate requirements gathering, business process analysis, configuration validation, testing, and user acceptance activities
  • Partner with government stakeholders to improve acquisition workflows and operational efficiency, and develop business process recommendations that align technology capabilities with mission objectives
  • Develop and deliver end‑user training, job aids, and knowledge transfer materials
  • Create reports, dashboards, and operational metrics, and analyze system usage and support trends to identify continuous improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with fellow Consultants, Technical Consultants, and Project Managers to deliver high‑quality client support
  • Prepare status reports, documentation, and executive briefings for client leadership, and build trusted relationships with government stakeholders
Qualifications
Required Experience:
  • Professional consulting or functional support experience with enterprise software applications, with depth of experience commensurate with the level of the position
  • Experience conducting business process analysis and translating business requirements into functional solutions
  • Experience supporting software implementations or operations and maintenance (O&M) environments
  • Experience working directly with government stakeholders in a client‑facing consulting role
  • Hands‑on experience with Unison's PRISM acquisition platform, or with comparable federal acquisition, procurement, or grants management systems, is strongly preferred
Federal Acquisition Domain Knowledge:

Familiarity with one or more of the following is required or strongly preferred, depending on level:

  • Federal acquisition and procurement lifecycle, from requirements and market research through award, administration, and closeout
  • Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), agency supplements, and related acquisition policy
  • Federal acquisition, contract writing, contract lifecycle management, or grants management systems, including commercial off‑the‑shelf (COTS) implementations
  • Working with contracting offices, 1102 contract specialists, program offices, and financial management organizations
  • Federal financial systems, funding structures, and appropriations concepts
  • Organizational change management and user adoption in federal environments
Core Skills and Abilities:
  • Exceptional client relationship management and consulting skills
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation communication, including facilitating working sessions with senior government leadership
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities
  • Ability to balance day‑to‑day operational support with longer‑term process improvement initiatives
  • Highly organized self‑starter able to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative, client‑facing environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and related Microsoft 365 applications
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in Business, Public Administration, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
