Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Project Executive for its Westlake, TX operations to lead multiple construction programs and maintain direct client relations. You will oversee preconstruction, estimating, and full project management across teams while driving safety and high performance.

You're expected to bring 15+ years of vertical construction experience, a relevant engineering or finance background, and a proven ability to develop strategies, win opportunities, and lead diverse staff.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years’ experience in vertical construction, preferably in the local region.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Construction Management; Business: Finance, or similar related experience.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to identify and pursue new opportunities.
  • Experience as Project Manager, Design Manager, Director of Estimating, or Project Director of construction teams.
  • Knowledge of commercial construction standards including scheduling, contracts, and coordination of subcontractors.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficient with project control software: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook.

Position Overview

As a Project Executive, you will work with various Project Management team members from different projects to manage the overall performance for commercial construction projects and have direct client relations responsibility. You will also provide an oversight of the estimation and complete project management of multiple project teams.

District Overview

Kiewit Building Group specializes in vertical construction, we build office buildings, industrial complexes, education and sports facilities, hotels, hospitals, transportation terminals, government buildings, science and technology facilities, retail and special-use facilities, and extensive interior construction with tenant improvements. Our capabilities include all facets of construction and engineering including general contracting, construction management, design-build, design-assist and turn-key project development.

Location

This position will be based out of our Regional office in Westlake, TX. Regional travel will be required.

Responsibilities

Provides executive leadership with strategy development and business initiatives within the organization.

Provides oversight and senior management for multiple construction teams through the preconstruction and construction process.

Senior Project Management responsibility for the project performance: financial, schedule, construction execution, and client relations.

Ensures that staffing resources are sufficient on projects and assists in employee development, recruiting, and retention.

Leads all aspects of Kiewit’s safety culture and a commitment to Nobody Gets Hurt.

GET WORK

Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, potential clients, and industry trends.

Identify and cultivate relationships with potential clients, including developers, architects, engineers, and contractors.

Build trusted advisor relationships with key client executives through content-driven discussions aligned to the client's priorities and relevant trends.

Create strategies for community partnerships to ensure Kiewit has diverse presence.

Provide Strategic plans for new business opportunities and fosters new client relationships.

Serves as the primary client relationship manager, who builds long-term relationships with new and existing clients to generate new business opportunities.

Oversight and Collaboration during the Preconstruction, Estimating, and proposal development process for new and existing business opportunities.

Leads Contract negotiations, solutions and development

Involvement in the community and industry as an influential leader through participation in organizations and memberships.

Qualifications

15+ years’ experience in the vertical construction market, preferably in the localized region.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Construction Management; Business: Finance, OR similar type experience in a related position that provides knowledge and experience required for this position

Strong business acumen and the ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities

Prior experience serving as Project Manager, Design Manager, Director of Estimating, or Project Director of construction teams, where responsibilities include construction, engineering, estimating, contracts management, and client relations

Knowledge of commercial construction standards including scheduling, contracts, coordinating and managing all disciplines and subcontractors

Excellent communication and leadership skills

Competent in the use of computer software applications used for project control and administration, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
