Job summary

Victory Doors and Millwork is seeking a Door Builder to cut, nail, and fabricate wooden and fiberglass doors and frames according to specifications. The role requires high hand dexterity, eye for detail, and strong safety discipline while producing top quality millwork in diverse settings.

You will work with power tools including pneumatic nail guns, mitre saws, table saws, drills, belt sanders and routers, ensuring tickets are followed and workmanship meets standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in door fabrication and carpentry.
• Ability to read tickets and follow specifications precisely.
• Work with minimal supervision while upholding safety standards.
• Knowledge of wood properties and materials.

Responsibilities

• Cut, assemble, and finish wood, metal, and glass components for doors and sidelights.
• Safely operate power tools including nail guns, saws, drills, and routers.
• Read tickets accurately and report discrepancies to supervision.
• Inspect finished pieces for quality, measurements, and conformity to specs.

Description

The Victory Doors Door Builder is to cut, nail and fabricate wooden and fiberglass doors and other frames according to specifications. The job will involve working in diverse settings to produce top quality products. A door builder is an individual with great hand dexterity and an eye for detail. Will also have good knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials. Working with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential. The goal is to contribute to the foundation of Victory Doors of quality and long-lasting doors and millwork.

Responsibilities

• Cutting, screwing, stapling, nailing, gluing, caulking, and assembling of wood, metal and glass materials into door and sidelight glass door units


• Ability to safely and properly use power tools including pneumatic nail gun, miter saw, table saw, drill, belt sander and router.


• Read ticket with the utmost accuracy to ensure the order is complete or is reported to the supervisor if there are discrepancies, then paperwork is filed properly.


• Examine finished workpieces for smoothness, shape, angle, depth-of-cut, or conformity to specifications and verify dimensions, visually and using hands, rules, calipers, templates, or gauges.


• Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines


• Examine raw wood stock for defects and ensure conformity to size and other specification standards or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors


• Receiving and stocking inbound materials.


• Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization


• Enforce health and safety precautions


• Expected to be a positive and professional example


• Outstanding communication ability, communication with production manager to ensure alignment of shop needs


• Prepare finished products and put them on carts or ready for easy loading for shipping.


• Attention to detail and emphasize the importance of a clean working environment


• Requires self-motivation, initiative, and keeping a positive mental attitude.


• Strike and build jambs for door packs, project and stock.
