This role involves participating in the construction, maintenance, and repair of city facilities, including parks and buildings. Participate in the construction, maintenance, repair and remodeling of facilities/structures and parks; perform a variety of construction tasks involved in the renovation of wooden, concrete, brick or metal City buildings including rough and finish carpentry, masonry, block laying, painting, plumbing, basic electrical, minor welding, plastering, roofing, tiling, fence installation and sheetrock work and perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.

Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
High school diploma or GED supplemented by thirty (30) credit hours of specialized training in construction, carpentry, plumbing, or welding; and
Two (2) years general construction experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
