Job Description: Construction Crew Member at Morton Buildings

Morton Buildings is seeking to expand our construction crews and employee owners! With over 120 years in the industry, Morton Buildings, Inc. is a leader in post-frame construction, operating more than 10 manufacturing, fabrication, and shipping plants across the country, serving over 100 construction centers nationwide. Our iconic Morton M can be seen on thousands of new buildings annually across America.

Salary: $20.00 to $22.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Bonus Opportunity: Earn an additional $2,000 in your first year, with a $500 bonus paid quarterly during your first year. Bonuses are subject to applicable taxes.

Responsibilities:
  1. Follow safety and construction procedures, standards, and methods under the guidance of your crew foreman.
  2. Read and interpret construction plans to ensure accurate building.
  3. Use various tools and equipment safely and efficiently to construct buildings.
  4. Perform tasks such as digging footings, framing, installing windows, doors, siding, roofing materials, and finishing trims.
  5. Work collaboratively with crew members in a safe, organized, and respectful environment.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in post-frame construction, carpentry, or framing preferred.
  • Willingness to complete a training program.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
  • Availability to work 9-10 hours during peak season.
  • Ability to follow directions and produce quality work efficiently.
  • Commitment to safety procedures and proper use of tools and safety equipment.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, with occasional lifts up to 100 pounds, and work at heights up to 40 feet.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40%, including overnight stays of up to two weeks.
