Job summary

Ironsite in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a Research Scientist to build vision-language models that convert on-site data into actionable intelligence.

You will train, benchmark, and deploy state-of-the-art VLMs on real construction footage, collaborating with the CSO and research team to push the boundaries of what our data can teach models about spatial and temporal reasoning. Expected: 2–4 years of research, PyTorch/JAX, and a track record of shipping results.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of hands-on research experience designing and training deep learning models, especially transformers.
• Experience with large-scale vision or language datasets.
• Track record of shipping meaningful research results, in industry, lab, or publications.
• Background in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, Robotics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Train and iterate on Ironsite's core vision-language models.
• Build and improve benchmark suites across video tasks and temporal reasoning.
• Ship models to production, collaborating with infrastructure and hardware teams.
