HDR is hiring a Construction Utility Coordinator to work on a major construction program for our client in Pompano Beach or Orlando, FL. This position requires leadership skills to support utility operations impacting construction.
Primary Responsibilities
- Identify potential utility conflicts during design
- Identify problems with utility work schedules
- Assist project teams with utility issues during construction
- Guide project teams through department manuals and rules related to utilities
- Review plan revisions for utility impact changes
- Coordinate utility permits through construction projects
- Address statewide utility issues, including:
- Designating department-owned facilities
- Utility work in CPM schedules
- New service work in Utility Work Schedules
- Reasons for utility work in schedules
- Conflicting language in RFPs
Ensure all utility relocations are completed prior to construction
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with warranty coordination across multiple programs
During Construction
- Examine Contract Documents and develop Warranty Requirement List
- Collaborate with CEI for warranty approval
- Update warranties as project progresses
At or After Final Acceptance
- Review warranties for compliance
Annual Value-Added Inspection
- Inspect asphalt and bridge features annually
Remedial Work
- Coordinate remedial work for ongoing inspections
Additional Review and Optimization Tasks
- Review construction plans for challenges and risks
- Review bid documents for potential issues
- Conduct constructability reviews and track success metrics
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Science, or related field
- At least 4 years of relevant experience
- Experience with Florida Turnpike or FDOT preferred
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
- Local candidates preferred

- High School diploma or equivalent
- Microsoft Office skills
