Job Summary

This position oversees and facilitates training services for participants involved in Skill Trades Training Sessions, aligning with the agency's mission and contractual obligations. It includes designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs to ensure participants acquire essential and technical skills, which may lead to employment acquisition. The role collaborates with various departments, promotes a dynamic learning experience, stays current with industry trends, refines training methodologies, and maintains compliance with contractual standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assess training needs through surveys, meetings, and interviews.
  • Evaluate and gather data on the effectiveness of current training programs.
  • Design comprehensive training programs aligned with identified needs, utilizing the ADDIE model and internal Content Creation Guidelines.
  • Develop curricula, courses, and modules for implementation, some of which will require upload to the Goodwill U Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Coordinate the development of instructional materials, aids, and manuals to support practical training throughout the organization.
  • Direct and facilitate structured learning experiences that ensure alignment with adult learning principles.
  • Incorporate new trends and tools in adult learning to enhance the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Create innovative training materials using software such as PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, Movavi, Articulate 360, and other relevant tools.
  • Implement, monitor, and evaluate the effectiveness of training activities.
  • Foster a culture that supports adult learning and promotes professional growth.
  • Ensure training activities meet divisional standards.
  • Document and analyze the results of all training activities, both group and individual.
  • Regularly evaluate the success of training programs and make necessary adjustments using feedback and data.
  • Develop and recommend divisional performance goals and objectives that incorporate new training techniques.
  • Stay abreast of new trends and tools in adult learning and training management.
  • Receive training requests from other departments or divisions and analyze them for further development and deployment.
  • Must possess reliable transportation.
  • Flexibility in working hours is required, as occasional assignments during non-traditional hours may be necessary.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Specific Responsibilities in the Construction Field
  • Manage Training Spaces: Oversee the setup, maintenance, and readiness of classroom and lab training areas.
  • Provide Technical Training, including a theoretical component and hands‑on experience.
  • Prepare Training Materials: Organize and maintain all instructional materials, including binders, folders, copies, and specialized lab supplies (Bill of Materials).
  • Coordinate Logistics: Handle scheduling, participant vouchers, lunch tickets, parking allocations, and online payment processing.
  • Support Training Sessions: Assist participants by ensuring all required materials and equipment are available and functional during training.
  • Maintain Records and Inventory: Track attendance, monitor material usage, and manage supply inventories.
  • Communicate Effectively: Serve as the liaison between participants, the Training Manager, and the administrative staff to resolve any logistical or operational issues.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Education, Business, or a related discipline from a nationally accredited institution.
  • Four years of experience in the human services field or providing technical training and professional development services.
  • Knowledge of computer applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English/Spanish/Creole is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Preferential experience working with adults with disabilities, particularly in a vocational setting, as well as familiarity with traditional and modern training methods, tools, and techniques.
  • Relevant experience (5 years minimum) in the Construction Field (Construction/Electrical/HVAC/Solar Panel, or energy Trade Skill).

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
