Job summary

Jackson County Intermediate School District seeks a capable assistant to support instructors in Career Center settings. You will help prepare materials, supervise student work crews, and ensure safe operation of tools and machinery in construction-related labs.

The role involves reinforcing instruction, guiding students individually or in groups, and aiding in inventory and record-keeping while upholding district standards and policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years construction-related experience in the last 10 years.
• Experience working with youth and/or special needs students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the instructor in delivering daily instruction and preparing materials.
• Support students individually or in small groups to enhance understanding of construction concepts.
• Maintain and care for tools, equipment and laboratories to meet industry standards.
• Record grades, attendance and supervise student activities as directed by the Instructor.
• Escort and manage student behavior in alignment with district policies and safety rules.
• Attend school events as required and serve as a liaison with the Instructor and administration.
