Job summary

Lochridge-Priest, Inc. in Texas is seeking a Construction Technologist to identify, develop, and implement technology solutions that improve organizational efficiency, project delivery, and stakeholder engagement.

This role serves as a bridge between the VDC Group and internal and external stakeholders, translating user needs into software requirements and delivering technology solutions that align with goals.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Autodesk software, including Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
• Experience working with APIs, web services, data exchange, or software integrations.
• Experience developing Revit plugins, Dynamo scripts, or other BIM automation solutions.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with VDC, project teams, operations, and external technology partners.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the primary point of contact within the VDC group for office and field technology solutions.
• Identify business and project challenges addressable via software, automation, data, and tech solutions.
• Develop support strategies and planning methods for evolving needs due to process changes and new services.
• Collaborate with project managers, field personnel, estimators, designers, engineers, and stakeholders to develop tech solutions.
• Translate user requirements and workflows into functional software requirements and configurations.
• Evaluate opportunities to integrate construction software platforms and automate data exchange.
• Develop and maintain automated workflows, scripts, dashboards, integrations, and other digital tools.
• Design, develop, configure, test, and implement software-based solutions for operations and processes.
• Establish standards and deployment methods for internally developed solutions.
• Support data management, reporting, visualization, and analytics initiatives for decision making.
• Assist in SOPs and technology deployment methodologies; stay current with emerging tech.
• Represent LPI at industry events as needed.

The Construction Technologist is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing innovative technology solutions and processes that improve organizational efficiency, project delivery, and stakeholder engagement. This role serves as a key contributor in the research, evaluation, development, implementation, and ongoing support of emerging and existing construction technologies. Acting as a liaison between the VDC Group and internal and external stakeholders, the Construction Technologist works to understand user needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and deliver technology solutions that align with organizational goals and project requirements. The role supports continuous improvement initiatives and may have a specialized focus on technology solutions for the office, field, or both. The Construction Technologist reports to the VDC Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serves as the primary point of contact within the VDC group for office and field technology solutions supported by VDC.
• Work with VDC leadership and key stakeholders to identify business and project challenges that can be addressed through software, automation, data, and technology solutions.
• Assist in developing support strategies and planning methods that address evolving business needs resulting from process changes, technology adoption, and the introduction of new support services.
• Collaborate with project managers, field personnel, estimators, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop “best for project” technology solutions.
• Translate user requirements and construction workflows into functional software requirements, workflows, system configurations, and technical solutions.
• Evaluate opportunities to integrate construction software platforms and eliminate duplicated data entry through connected systems and automated data exchange.
• Develop and maintain automated workflows, scripts, applications, dashboards, integrations, and other digital tools that improve project delivery and reduce repetitive manual processes.
• Design, develop, configure, test, and implement software-based solutions that support construction operations and organizational processes.
• Establish standards, documentation, testing procedures, and deployment methods for internally developed or configured technology solutions.
• Support data management, reporting, visualization, and analytics initiatives that enable project teams and leadership to make informed decisions.
• Support the implementation, administration, training, and ongoing maintenance of cloud-based collaboration platforms, standards, and best practices, with a strong focus on Autodesk BIM 360/Autodesk Forma, GTP Stratus Solutions, and Autodesk Fabrication Products.
• Assist VDC leadership in defining, documenting, implementing, and maintaining departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technology deployment methodologies.
• Stay current with emerging construction technology, software development practices, artificial intelligence, automation, APIs, and digital construction methodologies.
• Represent LPI at industry seminars, conferences, technology demonstrations, and other professional events as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Proficiency with Autodesk software, including Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic understanding of HVAC and/or plumbing design principles, including the ability to interpret related drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Proficiency with GTP Stratus Application
• Experience with databases, SQL, data modeling, or business intelligence platforms.
• Experience developing dashboards, reports, or data visualization solutions.
• Experience with AI, machine learning, or generative AI applications within construction or business workflows.Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.

Education & Experience:

• Degree, diploma, or equivalent experience in Construction Technology, Construction Management,
• Architectural/Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Development, or a related field
