Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of OSP underground construction/maintenance experience.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.

Spectrum is investing more than $1B to expand broadband connectivity to underserved rural areas across America. Underground Construction Technicians are vital to this important work. They will help connect communities to who and what matters most through the installation, maintenance and repair of cables, equipment, and infrastructure. Ultimately, this work ensures the reliability of Spectrum’s advanced network and delivers service to people who would not otherwise have it.

As an Underground Construction Technician, you’ll be part of an experienced team completing construction projects that support the performance of our fiber optic network. WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: OSP underground construction/maintenance experience: 2-4 years
  • Education: High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge:Understand outside plant construction standards.
  • Skills: Attention to detail, teamwork, initiative, communication, adaptability, consistency
  • Abilities: Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Ability to dig in all types of soil. Willingness to learn, handle tools and equipment, physical abilities like bending, squatting and lifting occasionally heavy material
  • Travel Ability: Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record; you’ll travel 80% of the time to complete projects at different sites

Preferred Qualifications

  • Class A CDL (commercial driver’s license)
  • OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) certification
