Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc. is seeking motivated individuals to perform a broad range of construction engineering technician inspection and testing duties on various projects.

You will support a broader construction services team, documenting inspections to ensure conformance with specs and drawings, and you will conduct soils, concrete, and bituminous testing in the field and laboratory. A high school diploma is required; AS/BS degrees are preferred, and ACI certification or the ability to obtain

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; AS degree in Engineering Technology, BS in Construction Management or related field highly preferred.
• Experience in construction inspection and testing with soils, concrete, and bituminous paving.
• ACI soil or concrete testing certification and State of Michigan certification highly desired or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction inspection and testing on municipal, commercial, industrial and federal projects, documenting activities to meet project specs and drawings.
• Provide materials testing and data collection, including soil density testing and field testing of concrete; conduct laboratory testing of soils and concrete materials.
• Support the broader construction services team in delivering quality inspection and testing services.

Job description

GEI is seeking highly motivated individuals to perform a broad range of construction engineering technician inspection and testing duties on both short and long-term projects in various locations.

Candidates will support a broader construction services team in performing construction inspection activities on a variety of municipal, commercial, industrial and federal projects to document the construction activities performed by others are consistent with project specifications and drawings.

Candidates will also provide materials testing and data collection for all types of construction projects including, but not limited to, foundation subgrade testing, soil density testing, field testing of concrete and will also perform various laboratory testing of soil and concrete materials.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma required, AS degree in Engineering Technology, BS in Construction Management, or related field highly preferred.
• Previous experience in construction inspection and testing capacity with experience in soils, concrete, and bituminous paving.
• Previously certified from ACI in soil or concrete testing and State of Michigan highly desired or the ability to obtain certifications.
• Previous Resident Engineering Experience is a plus
• Excellent organizational skills and valid driver’s license are required.
