We are seeking aFull-time Construction Technician based in Fort Wayne, Indiana to join our team. FLSA Classification: Non-exempt, full-time, hourly

Salary or Hourly Range: $20.00-$22.00 per hour- Flexible, based on experience

Essential Functions

Gasoline Equipment provides reasonable accommodation to qualified individuals with disabilities in accordance with applicable law. Requests for accommodation may be directed to a supervisor or Human Resources.

  • Perform construction related activities on assigned projects including excavation, concrete work, plumbing, electrical conduit and basic wiring, and installation of petroleum equipment.
  • Repair & replace various system components to return existing systems to service.
  • Operate machinery within its designated area of use and provide maintenance as required for equipment.
  • Operate and maintain vehicles including trucks, trailers, lift trucks, scissor lift, and other powered equipment.
  • Test lines, tanks, sumps, dispensers and all system components as directed.
  • Apply appropriate safety practices and procedures according to applicable federal, state, and local codes, regulations and requirements.
  • Work with multiple hand and power tools related to the job. Maintain tools and equipment to ensure all are in proper and safe working order.
  • Promptly report time, travel, and parts used to the office for billing purposes.
  • Assume other assignments as needed to assist coworkers, fill needed gaps, and help the team succeed.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Specific Skills: Physical strength and endurance to handle packages, equipment, various materials up to 50-pounds and carry them some distance; Ability to operate hand tools.
  • Experience: Any construction-related experience is helpful.
  • Licenses or Certifications: Must have a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to listen and follow directions. Teamwork is essential for this role.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work cooperatively with a variety of people.
  • Construction experience preferred.
Work Schedule & Travel

Typical Work Schedule: 6:30am – 4:00pm, Monday – Friday

Evenings / Weekends / On‑Call Required: Occasional evenings/weekends as required by job

Travel Required? Yes. Daily Travel to jobsites. Occasional travel with out of town stay.

Physical Demands

This position requires normal physical mobility, including the ability to climb stairs and on and off of trucks. The role also requires sufficient strength and endurance to handle packages, equipment, and various materials up to 50 pounds and the ability to carry them some distance. Good hand‑eye coordination is necessary to safely and effectively perform job duties.

Supervisory Responsibilities

No. This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities. This is an entry level position who will report to the Foreman/Superintendent.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a combination of indoor and outdoor environments and may occur in all weather conditions. The position may involve exposure to confined or cramped spaces, loud noise, dust, and typical job‑site safety hazards. Extended or variable work hours may be required based on project or service needs.

Performance Measures

Yearly reviews done by department manager to determine growth and potential promotions or opportunities.
