Job summary

Progress Residential in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Construction Technician to perform maintenance and repair work on vacant homes, ensuring timely, safe, and professional service. The Construction Technician works on the Construction Services team. The Construction Technician is primarily tasked with maintenance and repair work for Progress Residential vacant homes and providing excellent customer service..ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAbility to assess a service request job assigned and determine the appropriate steps necessary to resolve the service requestAbility to complete electronic forms and service request entering all required information, accurate jobs notes and job photographsAbility to provide outstanding customer service and be an ideal representative of Progress Residential’s standardsConstruction Technician will conduct all business in accordance with company policies and procedures and all state and federal regulations (such as Lead Based Paint, ADA, Fair Housing, HAZCOM Program OSHA, etc.)Participate in field and formal training related to providing service to Progress homesMaintain fleet vehicle and inventory within company guidelinesPerform scheduled and unscheduled/emergency repairs, preventative maintenance, property inspections, and service requests including repair, replacement or modification of components, equipment or systems as assigned daily on the following types of systems:Electrical systems and fixturesPlumbing systems and fixturesA/C / Heat Pump and heating systemsAppliancesWater irrigation systemsStairs, gates, fences, patios, railings, mailboxesTile, carpet, and flooringInterior/exterior lightsFireplacesGas fixtures and appliancesShutters, interior and exterior doors and trim, windows, sliding glass doorsDoor and mailbox locks and keysSecurity systemsCeiling leaksWallsMill work and cabinetsPool areas, tile, hot tub/spa, pool furnitureOther Service areas as requiredPerform routine preventive maintenance services on residential properties and systemsReport all major repairs and requisitions prior to any expenditure of fundsMust be always aware of the condition of the property and take immediate steps to correct any unsafe conditionFollow Fleet vehicle maintenance schedule and keep an organized and clean vehicle/workspaceEnsure all workplace safety standards and practices are upheldCompletes all assigned work in a professional and timely mannerMaintains regular attendance and excellent punctualityThis role is considered Safety Sensitive and full compliance with all Fleet policies and procedures must be always adhered toDrivers of Progress Residential Fleet vehicles are expected to maintain a good driving record and drive in a safe manner at all timesQUALIFICATIONSHigh school Diploma or equivalent requiredMust have a valid Driver’s License in the working stateMinimum of 3 years’ experience required working in residential maintenance, service and repair.
