Job summary

Wm. Winkler Co. is seeking a Construction Surveyor to support layout and civil surveyors in collecting field data and performing site measurements. The role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining surveying equipment outdoors.

You will document measurements, load tools, and assist with drafting or data transfer to office staff while following safety procedures on varied sites.

Qualifications

• Surveying certification or equivalent (preferred).
• 2-5 years of experience in surveying.

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Construction Surveyor to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Chief layout and Civil Surveyors with field data collection and site measurements.
• Set up, operate, and maintain surveying equipment (GPS units, total stations, levels, data collectors).
• Understanding of Trimble siteworks and field link for structures.
• Measure distances, angles, elevations, and boundaries accurately.
• Jobsite limits, stakes, and reference points according to project plans.
• Record field notes and ensure accurate documentation of measurements.
• Load and unload equipment and maintain survey vehicles and tools.
• Perform basic calculations related to land measurements and elevations.
• Support boundary, topographic, construction, and surveys.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain compliance with company and state regulations.
• Communicate effectively with team members, contractors, engineers, and property owners.
• Assist with drafting or data transfer to office staff when needed.
• Work outdoors in varied weather and terrain conditions.

Qualifications

• Surveying certification or equivalent (preferred).
• 2-5 years of experience.

Schedule

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
