David Evans and Associates, Inc. (DEA) is looking for a Construction Survey Project Manager to lead the growth and delivery of construction surveying services throughout our California market. In this role, you will manage projects, mentor survey staff, and help expand DEA’s survey capabilities with a strong emphasis on quality, innovation, and client satisfaction.

About the Role
As Construction Survey Project Manager, you will oversee field and office teams, provide leadership across project delivery, and serve as a key point of contact for clients and contractors. Your work will focus on building DEA’s construction survey practice across California while ensuring that our current clients continue to receive the highest standard of service. This is a leadership opportunity for a licensed PLS with strong Caltrans experience and a desire to grow a team, lead with purpose, and support impactful projects.
Key Responsibilities
Develop new and maintain existing client relationships using DEA’s marketing and pursuit strategies
Serve as principal-in-charge or project manager and lead communication with clients and contractors
Manage project proposals, scopes, budgets, and schedules for construction survey work
Ensure consistent application of DEA processes for project accounting, documentation, contracting, and quality control
Coordinate closely with the Geomatics Group and Delivery Leaders to align staffing and resources
Provide mentorship and direction to field and office staff, promoting professional development
Oversee quality control of deliverables and data, ensuring standards are consistently met
Participate in recruiting and retention efforts, with a focus on building and sustaining high-performing teams
Collaborate with other DEA disciplines on integrated project delivery
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Surveying or related field, or equivalent experience
Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in California
10 or more years of experience delivering survey projects, including construction work
Demonstrated ability to manage Caltrans construction survey projects
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience working with California surveying labor unions is a plus

Anticipated salary range: $105,000 to $175,000 depending on experience and location
