Job summary

The Walsh Group is seeking a Survey Engineer to supervise survey crews and provide accurate horizontal and vertical control derived from project plans for field production operations. You will work within a dynamic, nationwide civil construction environment with opportunities for growth and travel across the United States.

Responsibilities include coordinating layout, mentoring staff, and applying Trimble software and GPS tools to support production schedules and project documentation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum 3 years field experience in survey and construction surveying.
• Knowledge of general construction practices.
• Experience with survey instrument operation and procedures.
• Knowledge of Trimble Construction Survey software, instruments, controllers, GPS Rovers, and machine control.
• Basic plan reading, math, and geometry.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide efficient and effective construction survey layout and information for field production operations, schedules, and budgets.
• Supervise and mentor survey crew in daily layout operations.
• Maintain knowledge of production schedules and procedures to guide survey responsibilities.
• Provide production information from project documents and plans to field operations.
• Maintain knowledge of Trimble software and GPS instruments and machine control setup.
• Assist operations in setup, usage, and maintenance of surveying equipment.
