AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Construction Surveillance Technician (CST) to support secure construction activities at sensitive facilities. You will monitor construction personnel, enforce security procedures, identify vulnerabilities, and maintain detailed documentation in line with government and site-specific security requirements.

  • 3–5 years of security experience related to ICD 705/SCIF/SAPF construction.
  • 3–5 years of CST experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience as Cleared American Guard (CAG).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor construction personnel and enforce security procedures and access controls.
  • Maintain daily security logs and documentation of observations.
  • Inspect secured and unsecured areas and ensure proper badges and access.
  • Operate surveillance equipment to support site security requirements.
  • Prepare clear written reports of findings and incidents in English.
  • Coordinate with Site Security Manager (SSM) and SSR as needed.

Overview

AtAMERICAN SYSTEMS, we support mission-critical programs that protect national security. We are seeking aConstruction Surveillance Technician (CST)to support secure construction activities at sensitive facilities by monitoring construction personnel, enforcing security procedures, identifying potential vulnerabilities, and maintaining detailed documentation in accordance with government and site-specific security requirements.

  • SupportSite Security Manager (SSM)andSpecial Security Representative (SSR)functions, as assigned.
  • Serve as theSSM/SSRin the absence of the primary designated individual, when required.
  • Conduct daily inspections ofsecured and unsecuredareas throughout the worksite.
  • Monitor construction activity to ensure all personnel visibly display required identification and badges and only access authorized areas.
  • Provide continuous surveillance of construction personnel during on-site work activities.
  • Maintain daily security logs for all workers entering and exiting the worksite.
  • Operate inspection and surveillance equipment in support of site security requirements.
  • Apply working knowledge of construction disciplines, includingcivil, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
  • Review and interpret construction plans, drawings, and blueprints to understand the intended use of spaces and systems and identify anomalies, inconsistencies, or potential security concerns.
  • Apply knowledge ofTechnical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM), construction security principles, and methods or devices that could be used for clandestine surveillance.
  • Prepare clear, detailed written reports in English documenting findings, incidents, analyses, and security-related observations.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs and records throughout each shift or tour of duty.
  • Promptly report security concerns, suspicious activity, and procedural violations to the appropriate site security authority.
  • Comply with all site safety, security, and reporting requirements.

  • Knowledge of and experience withsecurity documentationrelated toSCIF and SAPF construction and accreditation.
  • 3–5 years of experience working as a Construction Surveillance Technician (CST).
  • 3–5 years of experience working as a Cleared American Guard (CAG).
  • Ability to read and interpretconstruction drawings, blueprints, and technical documents.
  • Strong observation, documentation, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with site personnel, security staff, and leadership.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
  • Ability tostand and walk for extended periodswhile at the worksite.
  • Ability tostand for up to 8 hoursduring a shift.
  • Ability to workoutdoors in all seasonsand in active construction environments.
  • Ability tolift and/or move up to 25 poundsas needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active Construction Surveillance Technician (CST) certificationpreferred.
  • Site Security Manager training or certificationdesired.
  • Prior experience supporting secure or classified construction projects in government, military, or contractor environments.
  • Familiarity with SCIF/SAPF accreditation processes and secure facility security standards.
