Job description

Idaho Pacific West Builders, of The Pacific Companies, has grown to be one of the largest affordable housing general contractors in California, with over $1B in contracts. Due to our pipeline of 90+ projects, including 12,000+ units, over the next 3-5 years, we are seeking accomplished multifamily superintendents. We are currently seeking an experienced Superintendent for our Santa Barbara, CA project.

Responsibilities:
  1. Hold pre-construction tactics (Plan Constructability Review, Site Logistics, and Schedule Coordination)
  2. Manage commitments effectively—make requests, hold promises, gather assertions, provide assessments
  3. Create, maintain, and enforce a safe jobsite environment
  4. Produce, maintain, and execute schedules
  5. Help ensure compliance with budget
  6. Supervise and coordinate all construction activities, including trade contractors
  7. Ensure project materials and workmanship meet quality standards and design requirements
  8. Obtain necessary information from engineers, designers, inspectors, authorities, and clients
  9. Advise project manager of potential issues impacting budget, schedule, quality, and safety
  10. Maintain project tactics, schedule, 3-week look-ahead, and daily reports
Qualifications:
  1. 8+ years of experience as a Superintendent
  2. Experience in Multi-Family Unit Construction
  3. Experience in Vertical Concrete Apprenticeship or related trades (helpful or preferred)
  4. Deep knowledge of construction industry standards, plans, materials, methods, and procedures
  5. Proven ability to lead safety programs on-site
  6. Experience leading large subcontractor teams
  7. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational systems
  8. Experience assessing trade performance
  9. Knowledge of required inspections
  10. Problem-solving skills at the field level and escalation when necessary
  11. Experience with project schedule critical path management
  12. Ability to schedule, monitor, and forecast resources efficiently
