Job summary

ARCO Design/Build is seeking a highly motivated Superintendent Intern in Pittsburgh, PA. This internship offers hands-on experience on construction projects across various industries, including commercial and industrial. Interns will assist Superintendents, learn critical skills, and contribute to project success.

The ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Competitive hourly rates, housing, and performance bonuses are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0.
• Co-op or intern experience preferred.
• Possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist Superintendents on jobsites.
• Learn to create schedules and communicate with subcontractors.
• Perform critical tasks throughout the project life cycle.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

We are looking for a highly motivated College Superintendent Intern, who is passionate about the construction process and wants to learn onsite. At ARCO, an Intern has the opportunity to assist Superintendents with the following:

• Work on jobsites and get hands-on experience from our expert field personnel on projects in a variety of industries including commercial, industrial, distribution, office, multi-family, entertainment and more
• Learn various skills from the Superintendent on the job including creating schedules, communicating with subcontractors, running a project smoothly from start to finish, and collaborating with the Superintendent on the jobsite
• You will make a meaningful contribution to ARCO’s success, performing critical tasks in every stage of the project life cycle

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

• Enrolled in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or other related degree programs
• Minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 out of 4.0
• Co-op or Intern construction experience preferred, but not required
• Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong work ethic
• Possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in your state of residence
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to: standing or walking for long periods of time, occasionally on uneven terrain, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, and/or lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds
