Job summary

ARCO Design/Build seeks a Superintendent Intern/Co-op to gain hands-on field experience on live design/build projects. You will work with experienced field leaders, contributing to daily site operations from mobilization to project completion.

You’ll participate in safety meetings, scheduling coordination, quality inspections, and daily progress reporting, with mentorship from Project Managers. This paid internship includes housing support and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, Construction Management, Building Science, or Construction Engineering undergraduate or graduate program (other related engineering majors will be considered)
• Driver's License required
• Excellent verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and strong work ethic
• Previous Co-op or intern experience in construction preferred, but not required
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Field Operations – gain exposure to daily job site activities from site mobilization through project completion
• Safety Leadership – participate in daily safety meetings, job site inspections, and promote a strong safety culture
• Scheduling & Coordination – assist with coordinating subcontractor activities and monitoring progress to keep projects on schedule
• Quality Control – observe and support quality inspections to ensure work meets plans and ARCO standards
• Trade Coordination – work with superintendents and subcontractors to understand sequencing and workflows
• Progress Documentation – assist with daily reports, photos, and site progress
• Plan & Drawing Review – become familiar with construction drawings and shop drawings in the field
