Job summary

Weston Solutions, Inc. in Honolulu, HI seeks a Construction Manager / Site Superintendent to direct projects, supervise subcontractors, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. You will coordinate with Program and Project Managers, Site Engineer, and field teams to meet timelines and budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction or related field.
  • 8–12 years of general construction experience focusing on excavation, grading, and industrial wastewater treatment.
  • 40-HR HAZWOPER or current 8-Hr refresher
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Valid Driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of planned field activities.
  • Interface with third parties related to construction activities.
  • Review construction specs and drawings.
  • Review constructability of design elements.
  • Assist in preparing subcontractor bidder lists and evaluating bids.
  • Coordinate and schedule subcontractors for each project.
  • Review subcontractor schedules and work plans.
  • Determine quantities and timing of material deliveries.
  • Perform daily reporting of labor, equipment, and material usage.
  • Review budget vs actual costs with the Program Manager.
  • Oversee scope of work and change orders.
  • Assist in reviewing subcontractor invoices and health/safety activities.
  • Maintain daily notes, reports, and field logs.
  • All other duties assigned by the Program Manager.

Weston is seeking a qualified Construction Manager / Site Superintendent to direct and drive projects to completion and administer the efforts of required subcontractors. The CM / Superintendent communicates on a regular daily basis with the Program Manager, the Project Manager, the Site Engineer, and subcontractors regarding the project, the project timeline, and project startup and staffing requirements.

Expected Outcomes

  • Assist in preparing a Subcontractor's bidder list for all construction contracts
  • Assist in the evaluation of construction bids and provide recommendations
  • Coordinate and schedule required subcontractors for each project
  • Review subcontractor schedule and work plans
  • Determine the quantity and volume of materials (needed, excavated, disposed of) and timing of delivery to perform work
  • Perform daily reporting of labor, equipment, and material utilization, along with daily production (essential for tracking daily job costs).
  • Review approved budget against actual job costs and production factors with the Program Manager.
  • Responsible for the scope of work and identifying change order conditions
  • Assist the management team in reviewing and approving subcontractor invoices.
  • Perform Health and Safety related activities.
  • Responsible for cost and schedule execution and reporting of construction activities including preparing and maintaining accurate daily notes, daily reports, and field logs.
  • All other duties assigned by the Program Manager.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to read and understand plans, specifications, schematics and other construction documents
  • Ability to check grade and verify elevations using a laser

  • Strong persuasive and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to identify and meet our customers’ needs, expectations and requirements
  • Must be a team player and create a positive environment

  • Must be flexible and willing to work overtime as needed, including weekends.
Education/Training
  • A Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
  • Minimum of 8 – 12 years of experience in general construction with an emphasis on excavation, grading, and industrial wastewater treatment.
  • 40-Hr HAZWOPER or current 8-Hr HAZWOPER Refresher Certification
  • Current CPR/First Aid training certification
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
  • The job entails physical demands while performing the duties of this job. Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs without aid.
