Job summary

AECOM Hunt is seeking a skilled Finishes/Rough Superintendent to oversee interior and exterior finishes on a high-profile airport project in Chicago. You will lead coordination of drywall, ceilings, flooring, painting, millwork and related scopes, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence in a fast-paced, operational environment.

The role requires a BS in Engineering or Construction Management and 6 years of construction experience or equivalent.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering/Construction Management and 6 years of demonstrated construction experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Valid Driver's License
• Security screening for access (SWAC/SIDA) and fingerprinting will be required after employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field supervision of finish contractors, ensuring safe, compliant, high-quality work.
• Coordinate phasing and sequencing in active airport facilities to protect operations and schedule.
• Ensure compliance with codes and contract requirements; assist inspections with AHJ and stakeholders.
• Manage submittals, redlines, punch lists, and system turnover docs.
• Support testing, installation, and turnover for system acceptance.
• Maintain field records and daily reports; contribute to cost/change docs.
• Organize and direct construction activities on site.
• Liaise with client resident representatives on jobsite activities.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Finishes/Rough Superintendent to oversee the execution of interior and exterior finishes for a high-profile airport project in Chicago. This role is critical to maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and schedule adherence in a fast-paced, operationally sensitive environment.

As a Finishes/Rough Superintendent, you will lead the coordination and installation of architectural finishes, drywall, ceilings, flooring, painting, millwork, and other related scopes, ensuring seamless integration with other trades and systems. Your leadership will play a vital role in delivering a world-class facility that enhances the passenger experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field supervision finish contractors, ensuring safe, compliant, and high-quality installations.
• Coordinate phasing and work sequencing in active airport facilities, minimizing operational impacts while maintaining schedule discipline.
• Drive compliance with standards, applicable building/fire codes, and contract requirements; support inspections and testing with AHJ, airport, and stakeholders.
• Manage field operations including submittal conformance, redlines/as-builts, punch lists, and system turnover documentation.
• Support testing, installation and turnover to achieve system acceptance.
• Maintain field records, daily reports, and contribute to cost and change documentation.
• Responsible for the organization and direction of construction and related activities.
• Act as a team liaison fordayto day activities,
• Coordinate with client’s resident representatives on jobsite activities.
  • BS Engineering/Construction Management and 6 years of demonstrated construction experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Valid Driver's License

  in order to receive a security badge at the client worksite for which you are being hired to perform services, you will be required to pass the client's security screening process to include SWAC (Secure Worker Access Consortium) and/or SIDA (Identification Display Area) and fingerprinting, which will be done after you have commenced employment and is a condition of your continued employment.

Preferred Requirements

• Strong knowledge/experience with finishes/rough construction.
• Experience with Chicago Building Codes.
• Experience in trade coordination.
• Experience with large construction projects (100MM+) phasing, and complex shutdowns/cutovers.
• Ability to manage site operations, resolve issues and report to management.
• OSHA certification.

Physical Demands

Construction field positions require physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to climb ladders and stairs, use personnel hoists, and move through various terrain and active construction zones. Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Team members must be capable of using their hands to handle tools and materials, and perform activities such as sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted may be necessary on an occasional basis.
• Individuals in construction field roles work primarily on active job sites where exposure to environmental and job-related hazards is common, with or without accommodation. These environments may include proximity to heavy machinery, elevated work areas, airborne particles, varying weather conditions, and potential electrical risks. Noise levels may vary from moderate to high depending on the phase of construction. Employees may be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and must remain alert to ensure safety. Additional duties may be assigned as needed based on the scope and progress of the project.
