Location: Darwin, NT, Australia

SLS is seeking an experienced Project Superintendent interested in international travel to join a fast-growing and dynamic Federal Division that is aggressively pursuing civil infrastructure opportunities across the Indo-Pacific Region with federal clients, such as the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), and Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC).

The Project Superintendent will be responsible for managing all construction efforts of subcontractors and self-performing crews to ensure the project is delivered safely, on time, on budget, and of the highest quality. They will report to the Project Manager or Project Executive and will interface regularly with Client representatives.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as Project Superintendent reporting to an experienced Project Manager or Project Executive.
  • Manage and maintain a positive client relationship while protecting company interests.
  • Oversee all construction operations to ensure adherence to the project budget, schedule, safety, and quality standards.
  • Manage subcontractors and self-performing crews, fostering respect and loyalty.
  • Supervise Field Superintendents and direct their daily activities.
  • Coordinate site logistics for efficient resource deployment.
  • Oversee safety and quality programs through respective managers.
  • Provide regular construction updates to the Project Scheduler.
  • Conduct weekly (or daily if needed) construction meetings to resolve issues.
  • Coordinate with the design team on urgent construction issues.
  • Complete and maintain accurate reports and documentation.
  • Maintain professionalism and respect on site.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Project Manager or Project Executive.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10+ years as Superintendent or Construction Manager on civil infrastructure projects valued at $10M+.
  • 2-year or 4-year degree in construction or engineering-related fields (strongly desired).
  • Current OSHA 30-hour & EM 385-1-1 certifications (desired).
  • Experience with federal projects involving DOD/USACE/NAVFAC (desired).
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
  • Ability to pass background/security checks.
  • Secret or higher Security Clearance (desired).
