Job summary

International Contractors Inc. seeks a seasoned Construction Superintendent to lead complex commercial projects across education, restaurant, retail and auto dealership sectors.

You will coordinate clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure safety, quality and on-time delivery on site in Illinois. The ideal candidate has 10+ years GC/CM experience, strong communication, and proficiency with project management tools.

Qualifications

• 10 years construction experience at GC/CM firm.
• Solid, professional communication skills.
• Ability to produce innovative solutions to complex challenges.
• Proficient with Windows Office and daily project communication tools.

Responsibilities

• Working as a core member of a dedicated ICI Team.
• Communicating professionally with clients, architects, engineers and subcontractors.
• Managing day-to-day activities of complex project sites in education, restaurant, retail and auto markets.
• Maintaining a safe work site and enforcing OSHA regulations.
• Overseeing and inspecting work against designs, plans and shop drawings.
• Documenting jobsite details, reporting progress, and conducting site meetings.
• Maintaining client relationships and managing expectations.

Some of the specific responsibilities of a Project Superintendent include:

• Working as a core member of a dedicated ICI Team.
• Communicating professionally and effectively with clients, architects, engineers, design partners, subcontractors, trades and internal team members.
• Managing the day to day activities of complicated project sites in the education, restaurant, retail and auto markets and ensuring top-quality results through effective management of resources and the construction process.
• Maintaining a safe work site by implementing good housekeeping regulations and safety requirements, enforcing safe work habits and observing OSHA and any state-level agencies' regulations
• Overseeing and Inspecting work in progress against designs, plans, specifications, subcontracts/scopes, shop drawings and overall craftsmanship.
• Reducing project risk by reliably documenting and managing jobsite details, reporting on daily progress, conducting weekly site meetings and inspections, developing six-week look ahead schedules and managing the overall schedule.
• Maintain client relationships by meeting and managing client expectations, professionally addressing any concern or escalating issues as appropriate.
