Job summary

Zumwalt Construction, Inc. is seeking a Construction Superintendent in Fresno, CA to lead on-site operations for commercial and healthcare projects. You will supervise subcontractors, coordinate all construction phases, and manage schedules while ensuring safety and quality on every milestone.

The role requires coordinating with owners, engineers, inspectors, and crews, reviewing drawings, RFIs, and change orders, and maintaining Procore-based documentation. Travel to sites is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience directing on-site construction operations.
• Experience with commercial and healthcare projects.
• Knowledge of Cal/OSHA safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily on-site construction operations for commercial, public works, and private-sector projects.
• Supervise subcontractors, foremen, trade contractors, and field personnel to ensure work aligns with plans and specs.
• Coordinate all phases of construction: site prep, foundations, structural work, carpentry, mechanicals, and interior finishes.
• Manage project schedules, sequences, and milestones to ensure timely completion.
• Coordinate material procurement, equipment deliveries, and subcontractor manpower.
• Conduct daily jobsite inspections to verify workmanship and compliance with drawings.
• Enforce safety policies and Cal/OSHA requirements; lead safety meetings and address hazards.
• Collaborate with project managers, owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, and subs to resolve field issues.
• Review drawings, specs, RFIs, submittals, and change orders for accurate execution.
• Monitor labor productivity, subcontractor performance, materials usage, and costs.
• Maintain daily reports, progress docs, schedules, and communications using Procore.
• Coordinate building inspections, testing, commissioning, punch lists, and turnover.
• Identify conflicts and develop solutions to minimize delays and rework.
• Oversee self-performed concrete and carpentry, coordinating crews and quality.
• Travel to project sites as needed to supervise and maintain standards.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to client expectations.
