Job description

Construction Superintendent or Construction Coordinator needed for a temporary building project scheduled for April. This short-term role is ideal for experienced construction professionals (Superintendent, Construction Manager, Coordinator, or Foreman) who are safety-conscious.

The Construction Site Superintendent oversees all site activities, including supervision of personnel, materials, and equipment; ensures adherence to plans and specifications; maintains schedule and budget; and promotes safety and professionalism to successfully complete the project on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate effectively with the Construction Project Manager throughout the project.
2. Ensure compliance with safety policies by all employees and contractors.
3. Lead safety meetings and maintain safety logs.
4. Keep the job site clean and safe, addressing hazards immediately.
5. Prepare daily reports and documentation promptly.
6. Manage project punch lists with subcontractors and clients.
7. Coordinate with the Project Manager to secure permits and approvals from local authorities.
8. Schedule and attend municipal inspections.
9. Supervise all construction activities.
10. Manage multiple subcontractors and vendors to meet specifications.
11. Conduct weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors.
12. Inspect work regularly to ensure quality standards.
13. Maintain construction schedules tightly.
14. Order materials and schedule inspections as needed.
15. Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
16. Review and ensure compliance with contract documents and specifications.
17. Manage closing documents like RFIs, Submittals, and Punchlists.
18. Enforce company and project policies.

Requirements

1. Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools in commercial construction.
2. Proficiency in email communication and daily report submission.
3. Excellent time management and multitasking skills.
4. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
6. Attention to detail and a critical eye.
7. Proven ability to meet deadlines.
8. Relevant commercial construction experience.
9. Preferred certifications: OSHA 10/30, CPR, First Aid.
