Due to our expanding project portfolio, we are seeking a Traveling Superintendent to manage and oversee industrial construction projects across the country.

Job Description:

As a Traveling Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction of industrial projects across the nation. This role requires extensive experience in industrial construction, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in diverse locations. You will be expected to ensure that all projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Oversee and manage the daily operations of industrial construction projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Travel: Travel to project sites nationwide for the duration of the project.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and direct on-site construction crews, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring coordination, productivity, and safety.
  • Safety Compliance: Enforce strict safety protocols on each job site, conducting regular safety inspections and meetings to maintain a safe working environment. Ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety standards.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all work meets design specifications, local codes, and client expectations. Perform quality inspections throughout the project.
  • Scheduling & Coordination: Manage project schedules, ensuring that milestones are met, and construction progresses smoothly. Work with the project manager to address any delays or obstacles.
  • Project Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams, providing daily log updates, responding to RFIs, review shop drawing submittals, and providing project updates.
  • Troubleshooting: Quickly address and resolve on-site issues such as delays, supply shortages, or design changes, minimizing disruption to the project timeline.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate project records, including daily logs, safety reports, and change orders.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of experience with an emphasis on industrial construction is preferred.
  • Education: A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of industrial construction processes, including structural steel, concrete work, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30-hour certification, First Aid/CPR, and other relevant certifications are highly preferred.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to manage and lead diverse teams across multiple locations, ensuring project goals are met with high standards.
  • Skills: Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend), Microsoft Office Suite, and blueprint reading.
  • Travel Flexibility: Must be willing and able to travel extensively for work, with the ability to stay on-site for extended periods.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong decision-making skills with the ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interactions with clients, project teams, and subcontractors.
