Job summary

Spectrum CMI Inc. in California seeks a Project Superintendent to supervise on-site construction, coordinate trades, procure materials, and ensure work meets plans and specs.

You will develop preliminary schedules and assist with constructability reviews during preconstruction, reporting to the Project Manager. The role requires advanced scheduling and cost control skills, ability to manage large teams, and strong vendor, subcontractor, and client relations while maintaining safety and quality

Job description

The Project Superintendent is directly responsible for supervising on-site construction at a single project or multiple same location projects. He/She is responsible to schedule, coordinate and supervise all craft and subcontractor activities, procure materials and equipment, resolve day-to-day challenges on the jobsite, inspect all work during construction to assure compliance with plans and specifications, resolve conflict and negotiate subcontractor invoices. The Project Superintendent will be directly involved in the development of preliminary schedules and assisting with the constructability review and site logistics planning during the preconstruction phase of a project. The Project Superintendent reports to the Project Manager.

The Project Superintendent must have an advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control, and needs to have the ability to control and supervise numerous or large groups of workers. The Project Superintendent is the General Contractor's representative on the jobsite and must possess qualified experience managing all on site construction activities. He/She must be able to further employee skills and productivity and promote vendor/subcontractor and client relations as well as effectively manage on-site production seeking to assure quality work, jobsite security and safety at all times.

Certification:

Current certificate for Construction Quality Management (CQM) For Contractors

Safety:

OSHA 30, EM-385 40 Hour, First Aid, CPR

Experience:

A minimum of 2 years Quality Control experience, 5 years preferable

• Experience as a Quality Control Manager on NAVFAC or USACE managed projects
• Experience in the use of NAVFAC - WORD, EXCEL and pdf Templates
• Experience in the use of USACE - QCS module of the Resident Management System (RMS)
• Experience in writing meeting agendas, conducting QC Meetings and writing meeting reports
• Experience in office QC Administration (processing submittals, maintaining register, test log, three phase log, preparing Prep & Initial Worksheets, gathering closeout documentation and making required entries into computer templates / spreadsheets / data bases/ e-folders)
• Experience organizing, managing and filing QC Department paper documentation
• Experience in QC field inspection, inspection documentation and photographic recording
• Experience managing deficiencies and following up on DOR/EOR Field Reports and Directives
