Job summary

Lawson is seeking a Construction Superintendent to oversee daily construction activities at the Refuge in Richmond, VA and potentially other Lawson sites. You will supervise multiple trades, coordinate subcontractors and deliveries, and lead onsite teams to ensure project success and on-time closeout.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with travel between Lawson sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial construction, with multifamily favorable.
• Experience running projects in the $8–$30 million range and supervising multiple trades.
• OSHA-10 certification and Virginia RLD/land disturbance credentials are required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily site tasks and supervise multiple trades.
• Manage subcontractors, vendors, and deliveries.
• Coordinate schedule management and project closeout.
• Ensure quality control and scope/spec management.
• Lead onsite teams including Lawson Assistant Superintendents and Field Techs.

Job description

The Construction Superintendent will oversee and coordinate daily construction activities at the Refuge - Richmond, VA but could potentially work at various Lawson work sites. This position will be accountable for oversight of onsite supervision and management responsibilities across multiple trades simultaneously. Individuals must be able to manage subcontractors and construction flow appropriately. Individuals must be able to take a lead role to provide direction to subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, onsite Lawson Assistant Superintendents, and Field Techs.

Requirements

• Experience with running projects between $8 to $30 million.
• Good human relations skills, and demonstrated ability to cooperate with subcontractors, residents, peers, and supervisors.
• Ability to organize and problem-solve effectively.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and self-control.
• Ability to travel between various work sites.
• Enthusiasm, positive attitude, trustworthiness, personal integrity and honesty
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial construction. Multi-family construction experience is a plus.
• OSHA-10
• Responsible Land Disturber (Virginia RLD)

Physical Functions

• Bending, kneeling, stretching, climbing stairs and ladders, squatting, and lifting to sixty (60) pounds.
