Job description

Solidus Resources is a U.S.-based gold development company backed by Waterton Mining. The Spring Valley Gold Project is located in the prolific Humboldt Range, an area with approximately 60 million ounces of gold endowment within a 50-mile radius.

The Spring Valley Project is a large-scale open pit gold heap leach operation, with a >10 year mine life and a production profile in excess of 300,000 oz annually. Using 300-ton class autonomous mining haul trucks and hydraulic shovels, the higher-grade ore will be crushed in a 13 Mst/a three stage crushing facility with a ½” product size that is conveyed and placed on the heap leach pad with stackers, while the low-grade run-of-mine ore will be directly stacked using the mine truck fleet. The conventional heap leach pad is segregated into these two operating areas where it will be irrigated, with leach solutions collected and processed into dore bars through the ADR facility. Site infrastructure to support the operation such as haul roads, waste rock storage facilities, truck shops, water management, warehouses, offices, etc are also included in the project scope.

Position Overview:

The Construction Superintendent will provide day-to-day construction supervision for the Spring Valley gold project. This role supports the Construction Director by managing on-site Solidus contractor execution, coordinating with the EPCM, ensuring quality and safety compliance, resolving technical queries, and driving schedule and turnover activities for mine infrastructure, crushing/stacking systems, ADR, heap leach works, and site civil/mechanical/electrical scope. No executive-level responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Supervise daily construction activities on site, ensuring contractors follow scope, safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
  • Serve as the Owner’s field representative for RFIs, technical queries, constructability clarifications, and field design changes.
  • Coordinate daily/weekly interface meetings among EPCM, contractors, HSE, and Owner teams; attend toolbox talks and safety walks.
  • Review and support Construction Work Packages (CWPs/IWPs), method statements, and SOPs for compliance and constructability.
  • Monitor progress, manpower, equipment utilization, and work quality; report status and issues to the Construction Director.
  • Identify execution risks (technical, interface, schedule, logistics); propose and implement mitigation actions; track issue closure.
  • Support inspection, testing, and quality verification activities; contribute to punch lists, turnovers, and commissioning readiness.
  • Provide input on contractor resourcing, sequencing, and short-term recovery plans; support evaluation of field-driven changes and claims.
  • Maintain accurate field documentation (daily reports, site logs, RFIs, non-conformance reports, inspection records).
Scope (typical work areas):
  • County Road Bypass
