The Superintendent also supports the NEPA permitting process by ensuring accurate integration of engineering and construction planning into DEIS/EIS documentation. This role is critical to construction readiness, contractor management, and successful delivery of safe, efficient, and compliant project execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee completion and quality of detailed engineering deliverables to ensure constructability and alignment with execution strategy.
  • Lead constructability reviews with EPCM partners and contractors.
  • Ensure integration of engineering design with permitting requirements and construction sequencing.
Construction Planning & Readiness
  • Develop and maintain the Construction Plan, including methods, sequencing, logistics, temporary works, and resourcing.
  • Coordinate early works activities (site access, utilities, laydown areas, temporary infrastructure).
  • Lead construction readiness activities including mobilization planning and contractor onboarding.
  • Ensure safety and environmental requirements are embedded in all construction planning.
  • Support infrastructure planning, including regional considerations such as workforce housing.
  • Implement and maintain Construction Execution Plans aligned with overall Project Execution Plans (PEP).
  • Ensure plans reflect current project status, interface risks, and stakeholder requirements across engineering, procurement, and construction.
Permitting & Regulatory Integration
  • Support NEPA (DEIS/EIS) permitting processes in coordination with environmental teams.
  • Ensure construction footprints, layouts, and access routes are accurately reflected in regulatory filings.
  • Assist with agency responses and maintain alignment between engineering and permitting commitments.
Contractor & EPCM Management
  • Support development and review of EPCM construction packages and RFPs.
  • Lead contractor selection processes and oversee contractor performance through mobilization and execution.
  • Coordinate across EPCM, contractors, and internal teams to resolve issues and maintain schedule alignment.
  • Monitor construction cost and schedule performance in coordination with Project Services.
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Support earned‑value tracking and maintain alignment with budgets and timelines.
Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and permitting requirements across all construction activities.
  • Confirm all approvals are secured prior to execution of work scopes or major commitments.
Cross‑Functional Leadership
  • Facilitate coordination across engineering, environmental, procurement, legal, finance, and operations teams.
  • Promote a collaborative, solution‑focused approach to project delivery.
Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of MSHA and Nevada construction regulations.
  • General understanding of mining operations in rural Nevada.
  • 10–12 years of construction experience in mining or heavy industrial projects.
  • Proven track record delivering projects (> $100M) on time and within budget.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies and permitting processes.
  • Experience with construction contract negotiation and administration.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and construction drawings.
  • Knowledge of Nevada permitting requirements and construction regulations.
  • Familiarity with survey systems (e.g., Public Land Survey System).
  • Understanding of 43 CFR §3809 preferred.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and risk.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong leadership aligned with AGA values and safety culture.
  • Ability to lead teams and contractors in a dynamic project environment.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement across technical, regulatory, and community groups.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • High accountability, attention to detail, and results orientation.
