Job summary

Rockford is seeking a Superintendent to oversee field operations on assigned projects, ensuring timely and profitable completion. You will supervise labor, trade contractors, field engineers and craft workers while promoting safety and collaboration.

Lead with strong communication, mentor team members, and manage logistical and complex project demands across residential and commercial builds.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Construction Management or years of equivalent experience.
  • OSHA training completed and First Aid/CPR certifications.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, memos, blueprints and floor plans.
  • Experience in managing residential and commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee field operations on assigned projects to achieve timely and profitable completion.
  • Directly supervise field labor, trade contractors, field engineers and craft workers.

About This Opportunity

Are you looking to utilize your years of experience in the construction industry? Look no further! Rockford is currently searching for a Superintendent to oversee our dynamic projects. The Superintendent position at Rockford will manage all field operations on the project(s) assigned in order to achieve timely and profitable completion. Our Superintendents directly supervise processes and field labor force, including but not limited to laborers, trade contractors, field engineers and craft workers. As a Superintendent you must be a strong leader, communicator, and advocate for team collaboration, safety, and innovation, and must have the ability to lead, manage, cultivate and mentor team members to promote their professional growth. This position must demonstrate organizational and time management skills, as well as have robust communication and client service skills.

Requirements
  • Bachelors in Construction Management or years of equivalent experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of managing residential and commercial projects
  • Been the lead or played a part in managing construction projects
  • Must have demonstrated the ability to manage logistical and mentally complex jobs
  • Certifications in First Aid/CPR.
  • OSHA training.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, memos, blueprints and floor plans
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization
Bonus Skills & Experience
  • Experience in leading large scale education projects
  • Procore experience
  • MS Project training/certification
  • Knowledge of CSI format

Type of Environment

This position's work environment may expose the individual to hazards typically found on construction sites. Potential physical hazards include noise, the presence of moving vehicles, challenging atmospheric conditions, confined spaces, uneven surfaces, and elevated areas. The individual may also encounter outdoor environmental conditions (weather) where protective measures may not be feasible. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory at all times while outside the job trailer. Additionally, the work environment for this role may involve occasional visits to the corporate office and job site trailer, with physical demands necessitating the ability to sit for extended periods.
